QLD: Ex Ekka boss in court over secret commissions

Royal National Association chair Sir WALTER BURNETT has appeared in court in Brisbane
on 23 counts of taking secret commissions for the annual Brisbane show also known as the
Ekka.

His lawyer DAVID KENT says BURNETT will strenuously fight the charges, and has thanked
his family and friends for their support.

BURNETT was remanded to appear in the Magistrates Court again on February 7 and was
not required to plea.

He is on bail on his own undertaking.
