NSW: Shorter life, higher child mortality for NSW's indigenous

Another report has pointed at the gap between Aboriginal people's lives and non-indigenous
people in New South Wales .. saying Aboriginal people die 16 years earlier than others.

And the Two Ways Together 2007 report says indigenous people's infant mortality rate
is also 79 per cent higher.

The report says Aboriginal adults are seven times more likely to appear in a criminal
court than the general population.

The report says Aboriginal population in the state's jails has increased to 20 per
cent of all adult male prisoners and 33 per cent of female prisoners.

The New South Wales opposition says the report shows the IEMMA government has made
little progress in addressing disadvantage faced by indigenous people.
